Mini creation

With wet weather galore here and one little Mitchell away with daddy, I found time to finish a tiny piece of mixed media. I thought I might find it hard working on something smaller but it was quick and fun.

The piece of stamp board was about 2 inch square.

Inspired by some fabric mixed media albums on PIntrest I went rummaging through my stash of vintage lace and buttons.

I layered the lace over the board gluing it down with gel medium. I used a larger piece of lace on the back and left it oveerhang.

I cut a small image from Prima's Princess paper line and set it behind a resin frame. I covered the image with a layer of glossy accents.
I grouped a small collection of vintage buttons together, and added some Art anthology dimensional crystal around the buttons. I found a piece of text and used art anthology timeless spray as a watercolour over the top.
These sprays are beautiful.
I am super excited to see that my favourite store in America, The Scrapbook Diaries is going to be releasing a mega mixed media kit in June with Kasia already names as one of four designers. I love her style and colour combinations. Roll on June!
Until next time

Prima penny farthing

Today I would like to share an altered frame from Prima. It's a penny farthing, after many colour changes I eventually settled on black with a hint of gold spray.

Inside the large wheel I have used lace, vintage findings and Prima's mechanicals by  Finnabair's. I have coloured the metals with Luminarte powders in spray format and Luminarte silks. These paints are beautiful intense pigments which give an amazing lustre on embellishments.

I found the clown doll in a local vintage shop, he hasn't got a name yet!

I've started work on a mini frame, it's not much bigger than an inchy. I will hopefully get it finished over the weekend.
Until then

Mixed media canvas

I recently purchased a 8x8 canvas and wanted to play with mixed media products. I thought I might enter this into the monthly challenge over at A sprinkle of imagination. The challenge allows for "anything goes" which gives free reigns on creativity.  I wanted layers and depth so used modern and antique lace over the canvas glued down with gel medium. I've used an antique Victorian frame and filled it with several pours of Ice resin. Ice resin is a fantastic jewellery grade resin which drys clear. I have been looking through some vintage finds and decided to use a vintage key, envelope &  cheque book stub.

Many of the products I have used are Prima Marketing including their brilliant wooden ATC cards.
I first layered lace onto the canvas and used gel medium to adhere it. To get the vintage colour I have used cold Tea and Art Anthology Timeless spray. These sprays are beautiful but I wish they were available in the UK.

It is Bank holiday here this weekend so I hope to finish a mixed media page I have started this morning.

Until next time.
